Concrete Hoops has ventured to the great Kingdom of Swaziland annually since the spring of 2005. Having reached thousands of local youth from all across the country of just over one million people concrete hoops has helped to bridge the gap between Canada and the Kingdom of Swaziland through its basketball and social development initiatives.

Swaziland suffers from the double edged sword of poverty and HIV/AIDS, where the prevalence of each is over 40%. Concrete Hoops programming has helped to provide hope through education, leadership development and peer mentorship.

Once again in May of 2009, all 5 founding members of Concrete Hoops will return to Swaziland to reconnect with the many coaches, campers and families that have helped to make a nation, halfway around the world feel like home. We are constantly amazed by the positive effect that basketball can have on the world and look forward to future programming in Swaziland.
